Purpose
I first started this blog back in November as my “30 Days of Thanksliving”. I wasn’t always successful in posting all of my Thanksgiving, but it has inspired me to continue writing. As I said then, I have always dreamed of being a writer. Ask any of my children and they will tell you that I have a passion about writing…whether it be a persuasive essay or a book report, I always want their writing to be the best it can be. At the ripe old age of 6, I was editing and proof reading my first grade teacher’s writing, for crying out loud! So, if you can stand it, I will be posting as often as I can not only about what I am thankful for but also all the things the Lord has taught and continues to teach me everyday. Mind you, I do not think I have some special connection that no one else has, but I tend to think I am a slow learner
and so most of my lessons have been monumental.
The words of Isaiah 61:1 burn inside me and inspire my everyday living…while I know this was given as a prophecy of Christ’s coming, these words definitely apply to me today: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the suffering and afflicted. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted, to announce liberty to captives and to open the eyes of the blind.” The Lord has released me from some big strongholds and He continues to peel the scales from my eyes allowing me to see places I still need to allow His mighty hand to take hold. I just know that He has brought me through these places so that I can declare to others that
FREEDOM is possible through surrender to HIM!
Girlfriend, you SHOULD be a writer. I enjoy reading your thoughts… you have a way with words. Keep it up! Hope you are well and the family too. Not sure if the boys will make it to Metamorphic this week. They have an overnighter at EBC Friday night and probably will be worthless most of Saturday.
